CliDef supports climate defenders facing arrests, frivolous criminal charges, detentions, and lawsuits for their work with the #StopEACOP campaign.

The Verde Island Passage (VIP) is often called the “Amazon”‘ of oceans. CliDef is supporting defenders on the ground seeking to stop construction.

Although Virunga National Park’s pristine wilderness has been granted protections under Congolese and international law, companies from Europe and elsewhere are pursuing plans for coal, oil, and gas extraction in and around the park.

As legal repression grows in France, CliDef provides legal support for a coalition of climate activists.

CliDef is supporting local lawyers that defend climate activists who have been arrested for peaceful civil disobedience while challenging the increased build-out of fossil fuel infrastructure in western Canada.

We are working to identify the risks faced by climate defenders challenging massive coal, oil, and LNG licenses, deforestation, and hydropower projects in Mozambique through relationships with local lawyers and legal organizations.
